Knitting is a great way to teach kids about the basics of sewing and needlework. This craft can be used for making gifts for family members or even selling items at flea markets. For younger kids, knitting needles are too big to work with, so use embroidery hoops and yarn instead. Plastic canvas can also be used in place of knitting needles.

Make Your Own Slime is all the rage right now, and it is so easy to make at home with a few simple ingredients. Follow the recipe below to make a small batch of slime. Or, like we did, make three batches of slime in three different colors to produce Unicorn-fluffy-slime - it's rainbow-coloured!

Batch by batch.

  • 2/3 cup Elmer's White Glue – we prefer to buy the gallon container of white glue because it's cheaper and you can create many batches with it.
  • Elmer's white glue was used to make this. The make-up will not be the same if you use a different glue, and the formula will not work.
  • Baking Soda (1/2 teaspoon)
  • a fourth cup of water
  • 2-4 cups of shaving cream or shaving gel is not recommended.
  • 1.5 Tablespoons Contact Lens Solution — *Important: The ingredients list for your contact lens solution must include boric acid and sodium borate. When the slime reacts with the glue, this is what happens. It's best to use Renu fresh or Equate brand. Other brands should not be used in place of these.

Adults should only produce the slime and handle all of the ingredients. If you have sensitive skin, wear gloves while playing with slime. No substitutions are allowed in our slime recipes for people with sensitive skin or those who use harsh detergents such as Lysol or Benadryl.

If you have any skin sensitivity, stop using it right away. Slime is a science experiment, so use caution when making and playing with it. More safety measures may be found at the bottom of the post before producing the slime.
